In this course, students will learn about manufacturing processes used in industry and how various materials are used in mechanical design. Materials studied will include ferrous and non-ferrous metals, polymers, ceramics and composites. Students will analyze the effects of common heat treatment methods used to modify the mechanical properties of carbon steels and alloys.
