The best kept secret in the automotive industry is a smaller, unassuming shop located in sunny Tucson, Arizona. However, that is not the goal of CCM Rod Shop but rather to be discovered by as many people as possible. CCM Rod Shop strives to offer product applications that appeal to not only nostalgic vehicle designs but also across the spectrum to contemporary vehicle designs as well. Trudy Nelson and her husband, Robert own CCM Rod Shop but the operation is truly a family success. Daily production and design operations are the responsibility of their oldest son, Jeff who is the Manager/Machinist and Senior CNC Programmer. Jeff's son Jeremy works right alongside his dad as an Apprentice Machinist but also is very skilled in CAD Programming and design. Rounding out the "family" is Jon Nelson who is the Marketing Manager.
A very important fact is that nothing in the shop will ever be CAST but is machined out of solid pieces of Aluminum. All items are custom machined from these solid pieces of material and Jeff hesitates to use the generic term "billet" but rather the descriptive "beautifully machined aluminum products and accessories".
The shop started some years ago with nothing more than a manual mill that is still in operation and used every day. Today the shop has come to rely on the newer technology for improved production and to produce cutting edge products. Yet the company still falls back on a core principle that they are more concerned with the quality not the quantity produced. “Our goal is to produce the highest quality products at a price everyone can afford.” Jeff said. Some of the products produced by CCM are solid aluminum steering wheels, 5 and 6 hole elliptical gauge panels, auburn style gauge panels, quad gauge panels, column drops, air cleaners & optima battery mounts. New products are always in planning stages.
When you order you may be asked to be patient due to the fact that no part or accessory is mass produced to keep the integrity. CCM Rod Shop offers customization of some of their products which is almost unheard of with the larger companies “take it or leave it” approach.
